A Little Less Conversation ( + photo of the day)

Its definitely the best way to brighten up your day!

I dont know about you, but every now and then I'm often conflicted whether i should focus on the details of today, or the bigger picture.

"It's more interesting to have just a picture of a small detail - then you can dream all the rest around it. Because when you see the whole thing, what is there to imagine?"

Photo of the Day

I hope your week ahead is filled with...

Colour.. to brighten up the grey caused by the skies.

Good conversations with close friends..

Breath taking sunsets to help you understand the magic of Nature.

Quiet Moments to collect your thoughts

And compassion to realise that not everyone may be as lucky as you.

Long time, Now See !

I have been busy continuing my torrid love affair with this city.. and it has led me down roads that finally led to me reading really interesting books, meeting fascinating people and leaving me equally frustrated and excited to find out what happens next.

1. I love this old illustrated taxi sign. Seen somewhere in Colaba.
2. Its the time of grey clouds and pouring rain. The city looks its most beautiful during the monsoons. Taken from C.C.I. club.
3. A little kitten lazing in the sun on the tetra pods at Marine Drive
4.  The beautiful patterns and textures formed by the peeling wall at Kala Ghoda Cafe.
5. The Rajabhai Tower and Bombay Stock Exchange. The Old and the New.
6. A boy sleeping at Marine Drive.
7. Taxis whizzing past at Fountain.

My heart goes out to this city and its inhabitants for the blasts that rocked Dadar, Zaveri Bazaar and Opera House on 13th July, 2011. May God bless this city.

Photo of the Day

Little by little,
We gave you everything
You ever dreamed of
Little by little
The wheels of your life
Have slowly fallen off
Little by little
You had to give it all in all your life
And all the time I just ask myself why
You're really here

Why am I really here?
Why am I really here?

Photos of the Day

These are a few snatches of  what i have been doing over the last few days.
( This is mostly the least exciting stuff... for the rest I was having too much fun to click any photos!)

Waiting in line and observing numerous shoes.

Seeing the softest dough being turned into the yummiest butter naans.

Gorging on street food.

Making my way through some of the books I wanted to read.

Photo of the Day : The Dastkar exhibition

I went to the Dastkar Exhibition that was held at the Coomaraswami Hall last wekk. WHat greeted me were riots of colour, beautiful craftmenship and one of a kind handcrafted pieces. This exhibition is held annually all over India and if you mustn't miss the chance to visit it. There is so much variety to choose from.. from household knick knacls to beautiful clothes, jewellery and bags.
The best part? There are no middlemen involved and the profits go directly to the artists and craftsmen ! :)
I thought I would share some of the photos with you!

Lovely dupattas

Just look at the textures and colours!

I must say.. this is the kind of colour blocking I love!

Intricate details

Beautiful summery shoes

This parrot handle atop this woven basket made me smile :)
