Don't it always seem to go,
That you don't know what you've got till its gone,
They paved paradise to put up a parking lot

I swam across,
I jumped across for you,
Oh what a thing to do,
'cause you were all yellow.

Makes Me Think

Did you know that the peace sign is actually a symbol for "Nuclear Disarmament" ? I didn't!

The peace sign symbol has the semaphoric symbols which denote the letter "N" and "D" for "Nuclear Disarmament" in it !
Semaphore Flags is the system for conveying information at a distance by means of visual signals with hand-held flags, rods, disks, paddles, or occasionally bare or gloved hands. Information is encoded by the position of the flags; it is read when the flag is in a fixed position. It was used by ships as a means of communication.

The Semaphore Flag System for 'D' is :

How cool is that? It just makes me realise how much there is to learn about the world!

Fifteen Minutes

Hello all! If you have fifteen minutes and would like to learn something new as well as have a chance to make a difference have a look at the following!

Toy bank is an NGO that takes old toys as donations and then re-distributes them to needy children. What a fantastic idea! The only criteria that they have is that the toy should be in good condition! Toys that promote violence are not allowed ( so no guns ) and neither are those that have a gender bias ( so no Barbie dolls ).

It's such a beautiful idea and just shows what a big impact such a small effort can make. To know more, go here ! And go ahead, find the toys that you no longer use and pass them on to the kids who will give them a whole new lease of life!

P.S. : Also, did you know that " Play is so important to optimal child development that it has been recognized by the United Nations High Commission for Human Rights as a right of every child."

I didn't! I just learnt that from their website!
